When Mr Fox and I arrived in Australia a little over 6 years ago we were embarking on a new adventure. We knew very little about where we were living and knew very few people who lived in Sydney.
We were lucky to find a house in a neighbourhood where doors are open and kids still ride bikes on the path outside. Coming from a country where our doors were always locked and we lived behind a high spiked fence, this was a novelty! I still remember the shock of the neighbours kids strolling in our front door and staying for a few hours. Mr Fox turned to me and said “Where are the parents?” I shrugged, equally astounded.
A few days later the parents did come over and introduce themselves and they became some of our first friends in Australia.
My lovely new neighbour invited me along to a crafting class, which I was excited about since I had dabbled in Scrapbooking. We met up with a couple of other girls and headed out to Angela’s. This was my introduction to Stampin’ Up! and it was love at first sight. I had so much fun spending time with new friends and learned so much, I knew it was something that would be in my life for a long time.
It’s taken a few years for me to take the big leap and make the decision to join the Stampin’ Up! family and become an independent demonstrator but finally I have done it!!
The company has a “Statement of the Heart” which says “To love what we do and share what we love…” and that’s the reason I have decided to join. I love the opportunity to make something beautiful but also share my crafting time with friends and watch their delight when they create something equally beautiful.
In celebration of the beautiful friends I made through Stampin’ Up! I wanted to make my first post using Fox & Friends (pg 58 of 2011-2012 Idea book & Catalogue)
I love the smiling whale in this set. I think it makes a very sweet card as a “Good Luck” card or by changing the greeting it would be great as a “Welcome Baby” card.
I added Stampin’ Up glitter called “Dazzling Diamonds” to the one little whale to give him some sparkle. I do so love a bit of sparkle.
I have been called Fox for a really long time. So as soon as I saw Fox & Friends I knew I was meant to have it. This card is an inspiration card for me – The best is yet to be!
Mr Fox says this is his favorite of the “Quick Six” I really like how the Large Tag punch looks like the scales on the shell of a tortoise. Sometimes when crafting things just fall into place unexpectedly:)
The cheeky little monkey from Fox & Friends is super cute. Its an image which is very versatile and would bring a smile every time. I cut out two of the monkeys and raised them up using Stampin’ Dimensionals. I find these little foam dots are indispensable and I use a lot! but at $7,50 for 300 they do go a long way 😉 They have a unique hexagonal shape which means they can fit into unusual shapes and are super sticky!
This is my least favorite of the 6 – maybe it’s late and or maybe I just missed the mark. The thing with pushing yourself to do the “Quick Six” is that while one or two may go wrong that you will get some amazing cards. Give the 6 a go when you next have a rainy afternoon.
So my final of the 6 are my little owls. I wanted to play a bit more with the Patterns Designer Series Paper Stack. These paperstacks are awesome value for money with 40 sheets of double-sided paper available in each Colour Collection for $41.95. The quality of the paper is outstanding and it’s so versatile. Each page is 12″x12″ so it’s great for those who Scrapbook too.
So that’s my first post done!
I hope you have enjoyed it and share the love.
